This release includes an updated Ranger Remote service for all users, with additional scanner driver updates for specific scanner models.

What’s included in this update:
- Updated Ranger Remote service with improved initialization and recovery handling
- Updated scanner drivers for supported Epson and Canon models
- Enhanced logging to assist with troubleshooting intermittent scanning issues
- Improved service stability, including automatic recovery if initialization fails
Purpose of this update:
These updates address known issues where scanners may intermittently stop responding or require service restarts (for example, “no items in the hopper” behavior).
Recommended Installation Approach
For best results, a clean installation is recommended.
- Perform a full uninstall of Ranger Remote and any installed scanner drivers to ensure a clean starting point
- Install scanner drivers first
- Install updated drivers if you use one of the supported models listed above
- Otherwise, reinstall the appropriate existing driver for your scanner
- Install the updated Ranger Remote service after drivers are installed
Reinstalling drivers – even when the driver version is not changing – helps ensure proper initialization and stability between Ranger Remote and scanner hardware.
