Catalyst has introduced a new tool to help reduce fraud and improve payment accuracy when processing U.S. Treasury checks. The Treasury Payee Verification feature is now accessible through Quick Find Services under Deposit Capture in TranZact.
This enhancement is available to all credit unions using Deposit Capture and Image Clear. It allows you to verify the payee’s name on a U.S. Treasury check – adding an extra layer of security.
How it works
On the Treasury Payee Verification page, you can now verify:
- Symbol number (also known as check number)
- Serial number
- Check amount
- Payee name (new!)
TranZact will return a response aligned with U.S. Treasury guidelines, including the match status and payee name – helping credit unions detect and prevent fraudulent checks.
Before you submit
To ensure accurate results, please follow these input guidelines:
- Enter all 4 digits of the symbol number
- Enter all 8 digits of the serial number
- Enter the check amount in this format: 0.00
- Click Submit to view the result in the Validation Result section
