Catalyst’s 14th Annual Meeting Highlights Member Value
May 19, 2025

Board Chair Lin Hodges kicked off Catalyst's 14th Annual Meeting by emphasizing the dual nature of the current economic climate as both uncertain and opportunistic. “Catalyst's mission is to accelerate credit union success and enable people to thrive by providing top-tier services and expert advice nationwide,” Hodges shared with attendees.

“While Catalyst's team is dedicated to supporting the unique needs of member credit unions,” Hodges said, “the impact on people is what truly drives Catalyst."

Bruce Fox, Catalyst's president and CEO, highlighted the organization's accomplishments in 2024 and outlined key initiatives for 2025. Catalyst ended 2024 with a net income of $66.3 million, a leverage ratio of 9.04% and a retained earnings ratio of 5.91%. The organization continues to onboard new members for the FedNow service, enabling instant fund transfers. A partnership with Origence has facilitated instant auto loan funding, with plans to expand to more loan types.

Late in 2024, Catalyst began implementing a new digital payments engine powered by Neural Payments, delivering a paradigm shift in Peer-to-Peer (P2P) payments. Fox emphasized that over the past year “Catalyst supported credit unions in navigating economic complexities, addressing liquidity needs and managing interest rate risk through asset management programs and a Derivatives Symposium.”

Next, Michael Hooper, Board Secretary and President/CEO of La Capitol FCU, formally announced the reelection of board members. The Committee's nominees for three-year terms were Steven Devan, President/CEO of East County Schools FCU; Syed Dinar, EVP/CFO of Texas Bay CU; Jon Hernandez, President/CEO of Calcom FCU; and Lin Hodges, President/CEO of Associated CU. Robb Scott, President/CEO of Copper State CU was nominated for a one-year term. With no candidates by petition, all nominees were elected.

The meeting concluded with an invitation to the annual Strategic Summit – October 21-23 – at Lost Pines Resort and Spa in Austin, Texas. The event will feature speakers such as Kevin O’Leary, Jim Marous, Jim McKelvey and Jon Dorenbos.
